THIS IS ME…
I am Bek,
I live in stunning Marlborough.
I have three very active children.
I love all sports. Competing in them, talking about them, following and watching them.
One of the most important things in my life is moving my body.
To exercise, to play sport, to spend time with my friends, to do things with my family. For my mental health, physical health and to explore. See nature, visit amazing places, meet new people, laugh, find out what makes me scared and to challenge boundaries.
I have been coaching small group fitness classes for the last 4 years , starting out from the “Shed” located on our rural property and then including a central Blenheim location 18 months ago.
The people, mostly women, who come to my classes are motivated, strong, and show up every single time. We share things, encourage each other and are our own best supporters.
They have become Us.
And no one is left behind.
This is Beks’ Movement.

Online fitness is the way of the future and can be perfectly paired with outside exercise all from the comfort of home.
I am now offering an online program that’s going to save you time and going to kickstart your fitness. The most amazing thing about it all however is that its going to improve your mindset and confidence and help you live your best life.
For $5 per week you will get 5 x 20 min classes which will be coached Live through a private Facebook page. ( You will need to have a Facebook account).
These live classes will then be saved to the private page for you to use at ANY time. They do not expire so you can re do ANY class at any time.
CLASSES PER WEEK
3 x Beks “Strength and HIIT” type classes- 20 mins of Cardio and Resistance based classes aimed at everyone. Options available, some basic resistance equipment encouraged.
1x Beks RESIST class - 40 mins of weights and resistance cheoreographed to Music.
1 x Anna’s Pilates based conditioning Class- 20 mins of moving your body , Strengthening your core and toning those muscles in a low impact but super intense way.
OR
1 x Kates’ Yoga flow and sessions. - 20 mins of Yoga based movement with a YOGA Fitness and Flow session and the other, a movement meditation.
Your Subscription will be paid weekly and you can CANCEL at ANY time.

The last 5 days have been spent in a sun induced haze of Hawaiian tropic sunscreen, bikinis , sand and salty warm water.
I’ve lay on my towel for hours in the hot sun because as much as I love doing exercise and moving my body I just as equally love lying by the sea in the hot sun and whiling away the day.
Jeremy and the kids spent most of the daylight hours out in the ocean, surfing, making friends, riding waves, searching for turtles and other things.
I am home base on the beach, the Keeper of things, a book in my hand.
Waikiki beach is a chaotic kaleidoscope of never ending people roaming across its sands.
The corner I based myself at was the apparent selfie point of the beach and so throughout the sunny 5 days I was treated to hundreds of scantily clad beings posing to have their photo taken.
I can’t lie.
I have been in the fitness industry for too long to not assess a body. Notice where someone holds a bit of extra weight, to notice muscular atrophy and hypertrophy to critique form and structure.
For years the weight loss and fitness industry has sold us one body type. We’ve been told that one body type, a thin body type is the one to aspire too.
Well... Fuck that.
It was just so obvious there on the beach... there is no body type that is better than another.
Just different types of beautiful.
and usefulness.
I saw hundreds of bodies and I could tell some of them had done some things in their time, like run races, like had children, travelled widely, had to work hard , surfed far corners of the world , shopped high end cities , had accidents and maybe some had lived long and happy lives....
There is no ideal body type just an ideal body to help us get the most out of life.

Breca Wanaka you were an absolute adventure! Nervous sleeps, Running up hills in our wetsuits ( 14.5kms) rolling around in a very choppy lake, broken goggles and swimming across Lake Wanaka ( 3.5kms) and to top it off......
We made the podium securing a 3rd place!!!!
Neve has had some outstanding results over the last 10 days. She broke a long standing Marlborough record for the 1500m Girls 10yrs at a South Island Athletics meet last weekend running it in 5.21 and winning the race.She also gained a record at the Marlborough primary schools swimming meet in Backstroke. A few days later and she competed in the Tasman Secondary schools triathlon champs winning the U12 girls. She then went to New Plymouth and competed at the National secondary school triathlon champs placing an outstanding 7th in her U12 age group. At just 10 she has been setting some big standards and achieving some fantastic results.
I love watching the kids compete in any event and know that the event is bigger than all of us. These sporting events teach the kids lessons in humility, compassion, preparation, drive, determination, integrity, adversity, success, grace and courage.
Lessons that I could never hope to emulate in everyday life.
As a parent it can be difficult to watch...It takes a lot to put yourself out there in front of judging eyes and do the best you can do, knowing that the potential for utter failure in front of said watching eyes is huge.
This is no different for a 10 yr old as it is for a 43yr old.
And while we have been enjoying some success of late it is not always so. In our family we could tell many tales of spectacular sporting failures over the years. But in my eyes if you can get back to the start line after one of those events, put it all behind you and give it another go, you are winning.
And that takes courage and a good race face.
